Valence bond theory/ Resonance theory:-

Proposed by Linus Pauling in 1937.

1,Resonance increases at the same time metal crystal stability also increased.

2,In this unsynchronized structures we can observe.

3,Na,Li formed only single covalent bond.

4,Rejection of One valency election to form synchronised resonance.

Properties:-

1,Elections free to move so conductivity high

2,Metals  have thermalconductivity nature

3,crystal molecules distance decreases that metal density increases.

4,metal have Elastic as flakes nature{Malleability and ductility}.

Drawbacks:-

1,metal  properties  Discussed as a qualitative mode not quantitative.

2, This theory fails to explain the properties of metals in the liquid state
